Gang Violence
in "romeo and Juliet""Tybalt, my cousin, O my brother's child! O prince! O cousin! Husband! O, the blood is spilled of my dear kinsman! Prince, as thou art true, for blood of ours, shed of Montague! O cousin, cousin!"-Lady Capulet 3.1 Lines: 154-158
Capulet and Montague violence hits verona's streets once againTensions between Capulet and Montague have finally boiled over enough to go against Prince Escalus' wishes and shed a lot of blood. As soon as they encountered one another the two foes were in for trouble. Montague's men, Mercutio and Benvolio had crossed paths with Capulet's men and Tybalt. As Mercutio and Tybalt start to physically fight, Romeo, tries to bring peace. It was too late, and before he knew it, Tybalt had taken the violence to a whole new level and killed Mercutio. This, Mercutio was Romeo's closest friend and the sight of him dying because the envy of a foe was not easy to handle. Soon enough Romeo came across Tybalt again. Out of fury, Romeo and Tybalt had yet another brawl but this time, Tybalt was left to die. Romeo regretted the action immediatly afterwards, but it was too late. He ran away in fear and police rushed to the scene to figure out what had happened. While Prince Escalus, had warned the two enemies death as the punishment for additional violence, he was very merciful. Romeo was banished from the city. Both Capulets and Montagues were in grievance after the deaths of their young family members through violence.
